An Original Oil Painting executed en plein air by Fine Artist Jeremiah Jolliff

This painting was completed outdoors in Camden Ohio, my hometown. It was an exercise in spontaneous composition. There is no way out, as if the viewers eye is challenged by the barricading wooden fence and fortress like wall and the turret like chimney. This painting is of Dan’s Sportshop in the vicinity of my associate’s **redacted** domicile. **redacted** is the Vice-President of **redacted**. **redacted** is a liberal of the staunchest order. Somehow or another this closed in composition alludes to the circular, peculiar notions and philosophies of the left’s political agenda.

This was one of my first attempts at painting a man made structure. It was an exciting challenge to capture the interplay of light and shadow on the building. The local color of the building was painted white and therefore the setting sun accentuated the suns warmth and the interplay of the cool shadows added to the attraction. Heaps of Winsor Newton Cadmium Yellow and Winsor Newton Cobalt Blue were used in an attempt to capture the elusive dance of warm and cool.

It was by and large a great exercise to capture the severe diagonal lines of of this composition. As an en plein air artist, it becomes sometimes necessary to force a picture. This was such an exercise. The overall feeling is a sense of uneasiness and as a result, this painting was given forthwith to my colleague **redacted** on the other side of the isle. he same view can be held from his own porch and the experience of going indoors and looking at a picture of the view beheld without will no doubt cause an interesting psychological impression to be formed within. One could therefore venture to say that this piece of fine art is in fact a performance piece.
